ABOUT US

The Newcomers Club of Chico is a social organization and is open to all women who have resided in the Chico area zip codes for four years or less. We are a non-profit group and provide the opportunity to meet and make friends through a variety of programs and activities.

As a member of the Newcomers Club, you will receive a monthly newsletter with the exception of July and August with detailed information about our many interest groups and activities that we host and coordinate. You will also receive a member directory which is invaluable for communicating with the people you will meet at the various club functions.

Our monthly luncheon at the Elks Lodge #423 (1705 Manzanita Avenue) is usually held on the fourth Thursday of the month. Date changes may occur in November and December because of holidays. The luncheon provides time for members to socialize, share a meal, and hear interesting speakers and see informative presentations about Chico and the surrounding areas.

Coffees, held on the second Wednesday of the month in various members’ homes, are informal gatherings enabling members to get acquainted and foster friendships.

Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month and are open to any club member who would like to attend.

Our club is a lasting testament to Mary Morston who founded our Newcomers Club in 1957. To learn more about Mary, click
